Adphorus Expands to Asia-Pacific Driven By Facebook Marketing Demand

SINGAPORE – 20 August 2019 – Adphorus, a travel marketing science company with top clients including Trivago, Fiji Airways and Air France today announced the appointment of William Chan as Sales Director, Asia-Pacific (APAC). Chan brings with him significant digital experience having led sales teams across Asia-Pacific for companies like ada and AdParlor. With extensive knowledge of the Facebook Marketing Partners ecosystem, he has successfully helped companies execute Facebook ad campaigns at scale, reaching new audiences and optimising their campaigns to drive performance. During his time at ada, William used their first party telco data to improve client campaign metrics by up to 20% across the board. He also previously managed media sales at Electronic Arts (EA) in EMEA. The announcement comes on the heels of recent expansion by its parent company, Sojern, following rapid growth in the APAC region.Adphorus, a Facebook and Instagram Marketing Partner, provides the technology and know-how to scale revenues through a scientific approach to travel advertising.

Volkan Çağsal, CEO of Adphorus, advises: “Facebook can be challenging for marketers in all business sectors. However, the travel sector in particular benefits from adopting a marketing science strategy that is executed through a continuous test and learn method to optimise campaigns and drive performance. Today we’re helping many APAC brands run hundreds of simultaneous experiments to improve their bookings volume and Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), and William will be an invaluable addition to our team as we continue to accelerate our growth in this region.”Çağsal continued, “Together with Sojern, we’ve already seen success in this region with customers such as the Langham Hospitality Group surpassing its ROAS targets by 140 percent within just one month. Additionally, Minor Hotels, with 526 hotels in 51 countries saw a similarly successful increase in ROAS of 126 percent. With the continued growth of smartphone ownership and Internet access, along with a huge number of daily active users in APAC a Facebook Marketing Partner is critical to keep ahead of the competition.”

The hiring of Chan, who will be based in the company’s Singapore office, comes at a time when social media influence and advertising is expanding at a high rate. According to its Q2 2019 results report, in APAC Facebook Daily Active Users (DAUs) have soared from 453 million to 615 million and Facebook Monthly Active Users (MAUs) from 756 million to 1,003 million in the past two years. Facebook generated revenues of $16.89 billion for the quarter, up 28% compared to the same time period a year prior indicating a massive opportunity for monetary growth. Chan commented, “I’m excited to join the Adphorus team at a time when APAC travel brands are recognising the tremendous opportunity in Facebook and Instagram advertising. Adphorus has created a travel-specific platform that utilises Artificial Intelligence and Sojern’s data science makes it easy for brands to drive bookings.” (Reference: Facebook Q2 2019 Results)
