Entrepreneur Magazine Recognizes Sojern with Top Ranking on 2017 Company Cultures List

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., February 21 — Sojern, travel’s leading performance marketing engine, was ranked 36 on Entrepreneur’s Top Company Cultures list, in the Large Company category (100+ employees). Entrepreneur magazine recognizes companies for creating exceptional cultures that drive employee engagement, exceed team member expectations and directly impact financial results.

“Sojern’s philosophy for driving a strong culture is based on our five company values: Center Around the Customer, Win as a Team, Deliver WOW, Be Genuine and Champion Diversity.  These aren’t just aspirational, they are woven into the fabric of our day to day operations – from recruiting, to training and development programs, all the way through to our peer and manager feedback systems,” said Mark Rabe, Sojern’s CEO.  “Without a well defined culture that inspires engagement, performance and loyalty, it’s hard to compete in today’s business climate. We are honored to be recognized by Entrepreneur for our culture, especially as we have been aggressively adding new ‘Sojernistas’ across the globe.”

Sojern’s company values set the tone for how Sojernistas celebrate successes and address challenges. Every quarter, Sojern’s employees reward colleagues who go above and beyond with “Orange Crushes,” a peer-to-peer collaboration award and, every month, teams nominate an employee who most demonstrates the Sojern values and share their video story around the globe. Sojern also brings all of its 250 employees together for an annual offsite in Omaha, the original birthplace of the company, and supports cross-office idea pollination by sponsoring hotel stays for employees who choose to combine business and leisure travel while vacationing near an office location. Other perks include an unlimited paid time off policy and 40 hours / year to volunteer through the Sojern Gives Back program.

“Great company cultures don’t happen on their own. They’re the result of great leadership, and a conscious effort to make everyone on a team feel engaged and important,” says Jason Feifer, editor in chief of Entrepreneur. “The honorees on our 2017 list are proof that strong cultures make even stronger companies.”

The Top Company Culture list was survey-based and employee answers were used to assess a company’s strength across several core areas. Among these core areas, Sojern employees rated very highly the work environment, emphasis on performance, mission/value alignment, leadership support and a culture of collaboration.
