Sojern Strengthens Executive Team With New VPs of Marketing and US Advertising Sales

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ Sojern, the leading travel data and media company, today announced the appointment of Brad King as Vice President of Marketing & Vertical Sales and Chris Marrow as Vice President of US Advertising Sales.  King will focus on strengthening the company’s vertical product and strategic marketing efforts. Marrow, who had been the company’s vice president for western region sales, will build on his success in that position to drive sales nationally. Both executives will be based in San Francisco and will report to Mark Rabe, CEO of Sojern.

“Brad and Chris will be key additions to the executive team as we continue our path of rapid growth,” said Rabe. “Brad’s broad expertise in data, marketing and the travel industry will be vital to increasing Sojern’s market visibility as we continue to expand our platform and introduce new products, services and partners. Meanwhile, Chris’ demonstrated advertising sales and data knowledge – coupled with his understanding of the company and our airline partners – will be critical as we continue to increase revenue and foster key industry relationships.”

Prior to joining Sojern, King was vice president of marketing for TellApart, a technology company that helps e-commerce firms drive incremental revenue through the use of their own customer data. Previously, King was the managing director of channel development at BlueKai, where he was responsible for building and growing the company’s strategic data buying channels. King previously held positions at Yahoo! as head of the company’s travel advertising vertical, Hotwire.com, WorldRes, Vail Resorts, and Northwest Airlines. King graduated with a Marketing and Management degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison School of Business.

“Advertisers and publishers are rapidly recognizing the growing importance of data in marketing and advertising, and Sojern is leading the industry by offering data-driven targeting of the highly desirable travel audience,” said King. “I look forward to working with this dynamic team as we continue to grow Sojern’s market presence.”

Marrow joined Sojern in 2009 as vice president of sales for the Western region, and was responsible for driving sales and customer growth for Sojern and its airline partners. Prior to joining Sojern, Marrow served as chief revenue officer for Aggregate Knowledge, an audience analytics company in the digital advertising space.  Prior to Aggregate Knowledge, Marrow was VP of Western Advertising Sales at Tacoda.  Tacoda was a pioneer in the behavioral targeting advertising space and eventually was acquitted by AOL. Marrow has also served in sales and executive positions at eBay, AltaVista, Ziff Davis, Inc and FlyCast Communications.
