Sojern Appoints Online Advertising Pioneer as New Chief Technology Officer

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/Sojern, the world’s leading data-driven traveler engagement platform, announced today the appointment of Jeremy Daw as its new chief technology officer. Daw is an online advertising technology veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. He was one of the original leaders of the first sponsored search platform, Overture, which was purchased by Yahoo for $1.6B.

As one of the first companies to have successfully cracked big data, Sojern has been helping the world’s most prominent travel brands more effectively reach, convert and retain travelers since 2007. Today, travel-related transactions account for over 1/3rd of all ecommerce revenue (ComScore 2012), and Sojern’s focus on the fast-growing travel sector has enabled the company to grow rapidly, roughly doubling year-over-year revenue.

Daw will join Chief Architect Lee Bierman to further direct the aggressive growth of Sojern’s engineering, operations, and data science teams to ensure that Sojern’s data-driven platform delivers best-in-class performance as it significantly expands data processing on a global scale. In particular, the team will focus on leveraging Sojern’s vast database of traveler profiles to develop even more granular and optimized targeting solutions for the travel vertical.

“I have long been impressed by Jeremy’s deep experience in creating and scaling top-notch advertising platforms and teams,” saidMark Rabe, CEO at Sojern. “Over the next year, we’ll continue to address the growing demand from multinational travel brands for data-driven marketing solutions and data monetization. Jeremy’s experience will be essential to driving and maintaining Sojern’s technology leadership globally.”

During his 25 years in ad tech, Daw has built complex technology infrastructure and implemented revenue-producing platforms from small beginnings to large scale at Yahoo, Overture, Adconion, and most recently, Demand Media.

“With an incredible travel data set and a commitment to developing high performance, innovative solutions for the travel industry, Sojern is unique in the space,” said Daw. “I’m excited to join the talented team to develop and scale Sojern’s powerful traveler audience platform.”
