Solution

With Sojern’s Commission model, Daryon found a smarter, more flexible way to grow direct bookings and lower distribution costs. The model is simple. They only pay a commission when a guest actually completes their stay. That structure helped Daryon confidently shift budget away from high-cost OTA channels and invest more in driving direct traffic. The result was less reliance on OTAs, stronger direct revenue across all 18 properties, and lower overall commission spend.

One standout example is the Choice Sleep Inn in Fort Walton Beach. After partnering with Sojern, the property saw a 65% drop in OTA bookings and a 38% jump in direct bookings—proof that the strategy was working. By the end of 2025, that shift added up to $65,000 in additional revenue for the hotel.

To re-engage past guests who booked through OTAs, Daryon used Sojern’s fully-managed email marketing service. One of their properties, the Clarion Hotel Broken Arrow, ran an email campaign that exceeded industry benchmarks, achieving a 31.5% open rate and a 4% average click-through rate.
